Upcoming DADRA Activities 2026

DADRA and 10th Chingford Scout Group SUMMER PICNIC Sunday 5th July 1pm – 5pm. At the Scout Hall, top of Hawkwood Crescent. Free entry. All welcome. Includes table sale – book a table for £10 to sell unwanted household items, gifts, toys, clothes, books, CDs, bric-a-brac etc. Go to Contacts page to make request to: Book a table
Friday Socials. Come and join us every other Friday 2pm – 4pm in the Scout Hall, top of Hawkwood Crescent for good company, conversation, tea/coffee and biscuits as well as games, crafts and book swaps. Forthcoming dates are: June 5th, 19th. All are welcome !!
Wednesday Walks
We normally meet at the top of Epping Way at 11am (but sometimes elsewhere and the meet time may vary a little) – this allows us to walk different routes.
Forthcoming dates: 10th, 24th June; 8th, 22nd July 2026
Pleasant walks into the forest and around the area. Come and join in. Walks last around one and a half hours.

Local Events in Chingford
Hawkwood Nature Reserve Opening hours have been extended for the Summer, opening at 7.30am and closing at 8.00pm. If you enjoy visiting our lovely nature reserve, perhaps you would like to join other volunteers for their regular tidy ups (clearing pathways, cutting back overhanging vegetation, mowing the grass, etc). Please register your interest on Fohnr@mikeandlesley.co.uk to receive updates. The Hawkwood Nature Reserve entrance is next to the Organiclea gate at top of Hawkwood Crescent.

Chingford Residents Association – Sunday Social Club at North Chingford Library Community Room, The Green E4 7EN. 1.30pm – 3.30pm, Every other Sunday – dates in June are 5th and 21st. Organiclea Open Days. Each one is a great chance to explore the nursery’s beautiful grounds, go on a guided tour, and pick up some handy tips about gardening and food growing. The next date in 2026 is: Sunday 27 September. You can enjoy coffee, cake, and a tasty lunch made with fresh, local, seasonal ingredients, plus the Farm Stall selling Organiclea’s own produce such as salad, jams, pickles, vinegars, and herbal teas. Epping Forest Brambly Hedge Trail
The Epping Forest Brambly Hedge Trail is now officially open. The Trail starts at the Epping Forest Visitor Centre and follows the path leading to, and all around Connaught Water.
Along the Trail you will find 17 carved oak sculptures of characters from the Brambly Hedge books by Jill Barklem. Jill lived locally to Epping Forest and drew inspiration for the enchanting world of Brambly Hedge from the trees and hedgerows in this area. More information is available in the Visitor Centre.
